Line Dancing

Line dancing is a great way to spend the day and night with a few friends, both old and new.  Forms of this type of popular dance have been around for centuries.  It basically consists of choreographed movements where the dancers are arranged in lines, with various rows, depending on the amount of dancers in the dance space.  This type of popular dance spread across all genres of music including pop, disco, latin, jazz, and rock and roll.  However, line dancing has most popularly been tagged to country western music and dancing.

Popular Dances
Many country musicians made music particularly with the notion of creating a line dancing song.  Some musicians even made it big with their hots.  Some of the most popular line dancing songs include the “Walkin Wazi”, the “Cowboy Boogie”, the “Tush Push”, the “L.A. Hustle”, the “Bus Stop”, the “Nutbush”, the Boot Scootin Boogie”, the “Achy Breaky Heart”, the “Swamp Thing” and many, many more.  Over the years, particular songs have been choreographed creating traditional line dances for songs while other dances are made up.

Line Dancing Advantages
Line dancing also solves a multitude of problems that other dances possess.  Many people find it hard to find a good studio to learn Latin dances or ball room dancing.  This problem is avoided with line dancing since you can learn it any country western stop such as bars, dance halls and clubs.  The movements are extremely easy and easy to catch on to.  The steps are also repetitive so that makes this type of dancing much easier to learn.  Line dancing also eliminates the use of a partner.  Many people avoid dancing because it requires them to dance with someone else and this may make many people feel awkward or uncomfortable.  Or, they do not think they can dance because they do not have someone to dance with.  Line dancing is traditionally performed solo.
